On 15 January 2026, a highly productive meeting was held at the Country Office of WHO Sri Lanka between the World Health Organization Representative (WR) to Sri Lanka, his colleagues, and the Executive Secretary/Oversight Officer of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM).
The discussion centered on the structure and performance of the CCM in Sri Lanka, with a focus on identifying opportunities to further strengthen its role in the future. Key points included the current funding support from the Global Fund to Sri Lanka and the importance of ensuring that these resources are utilized efficiently and effectively.
Participants also explored strategies and pathways for moving forward with the submission of the Fund Request for Grant Cycle 8, underscoring the collective commitment to advancing the effectiveness and sustainability of the CCM.
