An Oversight Visit was conducted on 22nd July 2025 to visit to two hospitals to oversee the use of different funding support extended through the Global Fund.  The functioning of the Digital X Ray Machine at the Base Hospital Homagama and the functioning of the Incinerator of the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) Angoda was overseen in the morning. Both of these had been installed with the support of the Global Fund under the Covid 19 Response Investments. The functioning of the Incinerato at the IDH is really good and the infectious waste generated by the hospital is being dispatched through this. The Digital Xray Mechine functioning is yet to be started as they are awaiting the Atomic Energy Council clearences which will be recieved soon.

A quick visit to the Sexually Transmited Diseses Clinic situated at the Base Hospital was also done even though it was not in the shedule and not even communicated them prior to the visit.

 The performances of two Non-Governmental Organizations namely Community Strength Development Foundation (CSDF),Wellampitiya and Strategic Alliance for Research and Development (SARD),Nittambuwa which are actively engaged in the HIV prevention activities in the districts of Colombo and Gampaha also were overseen. It was really impressive to see the innovative idea of developing the lives of the Female Sex Workers and their families through a livelihood development programmes in Colombo district by CSDF in addition to the services provided in HIV and STD prevention.
